What a remap does for a petrol Mercedes C-class

Petrol engines are remapped by refining fuelling, ignition timing and, on turbocharged engines, boost control. Done carefully this releases performance the manufacturer left in reserve, giving sharper throttle response and a stronger top end.

How the Mercedes C 350 272 compares

Of the 13 petrol C-class engines in our data, this one comes 3rd for power gain, which is 5 bhp above the C-class petrol average of 25 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 30 bhp and 50 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
